Why SOPs Fail in Growing Businesses

Good documentation is not the same as a working process.

An SOP can look complete on paper and still fail on the shop floor or in the office. The usual reason is that the process was documented without understanding how work actually happens, or nobody owns the process after the document is created.

Effective SOPs are built around real work. They need clear triggers, inputs, outputs, owners, decision points and review mechanisms. Most importantly, they need to become part of everyday management rather than sitting in a folder.
